Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Rochester, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,194 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/24/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year License: New York license in hand required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Must have New York license in hand - no exceptions First-time traveler accepted Locals must reside within a 75-mile radius Epic charting experience required Description: The unit is a critical care step-down unit dedicated to providing exceptional, evidence-based care to patients. Patients are received from various areas including emergency and intensive care departments. The patient population consists of adult, acute care patients requiring specialized care. All patients have continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring. The unit cares for patients needing airway management, acute BIPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and medicated IV infusions. Patient care services vary widely based on individual needs. The team adapts quickly and provides compassionate, multi-disciplinary care. The unit is staffed with 26 beds and has an average daily census of 17 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes various specialty teams such as IV therapy and respiratory services. The unit focuses on all medical diagnoses, particularly pulmonary patients. Candidates will float between units as required. Patients are typically managed with a nurse-to-patient ratio ranging from 1:5 to 1:7.
