Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment
for a Process Technician II. Type: Contract Job Title: Process
Technician II Location: Corning, NY Candidates must be able to
commute and work onsite in Corning, NY Pay Rate: Based on
experience Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm Education: AAS in Engineering
Technology or related scientific field Description The Process
Technician II will provide technical support to engineers in
testing, research, development, and manufacturing of materials such
as glass, refractory, ceramics, metals, and polymers. The role
focuses on sample preparation, analysis using optical methods, and
Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to generate high-quality data
for engineering and geological teams. Requirements Prepare samples
of glass and refractory materials including cutting, mounting,
epoxying, grinding, and polishing Analyze and image prepared
samples using optical methods, including stereomicroscopy and
polarized light microscopy Conduct imaging and chemical analysis
using SEM and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX) Compile
data and prepare reports for Geologists and Engineering staff
Support maintenance of lab operations and supplies Education AAS in
Engineering Technology or related scientific field Qualifications 2
years of experience in a technician or similar role Experience
operating electron microscopes or microprobes, or performing other
analytical chemistry techniques (quantitative or semi-quantitative)
Knowledge of safety systems related to machine work, furnace work,
and material handling Ability to gather information independently
and collaborate to solve complex problems Strong written and oral
communication skills Additional Information No third-party resumes
