Join a high-performing cardiac surgical team providing advanced perioperative and stepdown care for cardiac patients in Rochester (zip code 14642)./n /n/nTravel Nursing Job Details/n /n - Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,700 – $2,840 (competitive travel nursing pay)/n - Location: Rochester, NY 14642 — travel nursing job in Rochester, New York/n - Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 25, 2026)/n - Hours per Week: 36 hours/n - Shift: 12-hour days, primarily weekdays (7a-7p and 11a-11p), with on-call responsibilities as needed/n - Specialty: Cardiac Surgery / Cardiac Stepdown / RN First Assist (RNFA)/n - Employment Type: Travel (travel nurse, short-term contract)/n /n/nLicensure & Job Requirements/n /n - Minimum 2 years of cardiac RNFA experience (Cardiac RN First Assist experience required)/n - Active New York State (NYS) RN license/n - CNOR certification/n - BLS certification (American Heart Association)/n - ACLS certification (American Heart Association) preferred/n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities/n /n - Provide RN first assist support during cardiac surgeries, including chest exposure and sternal closure/n - Perform vein harvesting independently for CABG procedures (arterial and venous conduit handling)/n - Scrub and circulate complex cardiac cases: CABGs, structural heart procedures, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, and heart failure cases/n - Participate in heart transplant cases when credentialed (experience preferred)/n - Support robotic-assisted procedures (DaVinci) as a first assist when available (preferred but not required)/n - Deliver high-quality perioperative and postoperative cardiac stepdown nursing care, including patient monitoring, handoffs, and multidisciplinary coordination/n - Follow evidence-based protocols and maintain OR/stepdown safety and infection control standards/n /n/n /n This travel nursing role is ideal for experienced cardiac surgical nurses and RN First Assist professionals seeking short-term nursing contracts in New York.
