Responsible for providing a wide range of highly technical diagnostic exams, including but not limited to abdominal, small parts, GYN, abdominal and peripheral vascular, portable exams, and interventional procedures…. GE Equipment Breast Sonographer Summary: Performs a variety of procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative in the utilization of ultrasonic equipment for the diagnosis of breast disease. Assists in all interventional procedures using breast ultrasound. Provides a written sonographer impression for all exams and documents accurately and completely in Magview…. Philips Equipment Sonographer Duties and Responsibilities: · Performs ultrasound imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and policies, values, and mission of the organization. · Adjusts equipment controls as needed to produce high-quality images and prepares/presents them, with other pertinent patient information, for timely interpretation. · Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed. · Prepares the room and patient for the exam to be performed. Uses an established work pattern to work efficiently and safely within an ultrasound environment. Reviews patient history and the physician's orders. · Educate patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. · Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and ensuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly. · Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Adheres to safety policies. · Other duties as assigned.
