seeking a detail-oriented, dependable individual to join our
collaborative laboratory team as a Part-Time Specimen Processor on
first shift (4:00 AM – 12:30 PM). This role includes six 8-hour
shifts over a two-week period, with every other weekend and
rotating holidays, and may offer flexibility to fit your schedule.
/n As a Specimen Processor, you’ll be on the front lines of
laboratory operations—the critical gatekeeper ensuring specimens
are received, sorted, and processed accurately and efficiently.
Your attention to detail and commitment to quality directly
contribute to timely, accurate patient diagnoses and care. This is
a fast-paced, team-centered role where consistency, collaboration,

role, there will be the opportunity to- /n /n - Demonstrate a
service-oriented approach by conveying courtesy, respect,

Show initiative and offer assistance to support the completion of
departmental tasks. /n - Monitor pneumatic tube and courier
deliveries to ensure timely specimen processing. /n - Investigate
and resolve specimen issues, completing quality forms and
requesting help when necessary. /n - Separate specimens by
centrifugation, label aliquot tubes, transfer as per policy, and
store appropriately. /n - Determine and enter specimen receive
times into the computer system accurately. /n - Answer telephone
inquiries regarding specimen collection, test results, and normal
value ranges. /n - Follow all safety regulations when handling
biohazardous materials and sharps to prevent exposure. /n - Verify
patient specimens with requisitions or labels, and properly request
in the Laboratory Information System when needed. /n - Receive,
sort, prioritize, and share specimens per lab policy, disinfect
work areas, and participate in training new staff. /n Required: /n
/n - High School diploma or equivalent. /n - Good oral and written
communication skills. /n - Ability to communicate effectively with
all age groups and populations of external and internal customers
(as well as co-workers) both by telephone and in person. /n /n
Preferred: /n /n - Three to six months of experience in a clinical
laboratory, physician's office, or other medical environment,
including knowledge of or experience in Medical Terminology and
Laboratory Information systems. /n - Three to six months of
experience in a service environment including call center, customer
service center, or product distribution/fulfillment center. /n /n
