Job Description:

Junior Engineer to add to our growing and talented team. The
perfect candidate should possess excellent written and verbal
communication skills, demonstrate attention to detail and a
commitment to accuracy. You should have a working knowledge of
relevant structural concepts pertaining to bridges and other
highway structures, enabling you to understand and assess their
condition. Responsibilities: Structural analyses of bridges. Assist
with the preparation of design calculations and details. Assist in
the preparation of contract plans and specifications. Assist in the
preparation of construction cost estimates. Assist in the review of
construction submittals. Perform occasional field inspections of
existing structures. Perform occasional field visits to resolve
construction issues. Required Skills: Knowledge of basic structural
engineering principals and techniques. Excellent written and verbal
communication skills. Must be focused on providing quality work.
Working knowledge of relevant structural concepts of bridges and
other highway structures. Experienced in common computer
applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel), experience with AutoCAD and/or
MicroStation preferred. A Valid Driver's License and acceptable
Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required. Experience: Bachelor’s or
Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. 0 – 3 years of
progressive experience in the field. No certifications are
required. Work Environment: Professional office environment
Occasional work outside of the office at project sites and
occasional travel within NY State and surrounding areas Work
alongside a Professional Engineer (PE). Position includes a career
development plan with an established path towards their PE.
Interacts with other PDG personnel Receives close supervision,
training and mentoring on all tasks Physical Demands: Must
physically be able to perform field inspection work, e.g.,
carry/climb ladders, wade in streams, work around traffic, work at
heights, etc. This job requires prolonged periods of sitting at a
computer This job requires the ability to lift up to 25lbs About
